Math Games Day was held on the 30th of May, for Grades 1 upwards, from 9:30 am to 12.
Math teachers across the grades organised games and mental math activities for students to help them understand concepts such as operations, practical math problems etc, by engaging students in active participation and team activities, math trails and scavenger hunts. The older grades had selected students participate in Logos’ first ever Inter House Math quiz, which saw many students hurriedly try and solve math problems for their house, many audience members too, couldn’t resist the urge to solve the questions put up on their own.
We hope mathematics becomes a subject that excites a child, helping them understand the myriad of applications it has on the world around us and helps them face mathematical questions with confidence. We hope math games day helped children banish the myth that math = boring!
